All things are relative

Hopefully, the title is self-explanatory.  This observation is particularly true when it comes to the safety issue.  People often claim that something is worth it “even if only saves one life.” I beg to differ.  Living as long as possible is not paramount.  It’s a nice to have, that’s all.  If you don’t believe me try these two options: Option A) Living to 90 and being miserable and Option B) living to 85 and being happy.  84 year-olds don’t have to try this one.  But for the rest of us it’s fairly plain: safety is not an absolute.

By the way, freedom is also relative.  Or at least it would be if I didn’t think it was the best way of getting all the other things in life.
